"Go Ye Into All The World And Preach The Gospel...."

9/7/2013

The Lord has given every Believer the command to go out into the world and preach the Gospel everywhere you go to everyone you meet.  Some might say, "I'm not called to be a preacher."  Jesus has chosen you (John 16:15) and ordained you to bring forth fruit for the Kingdom of God.  That means sharing the gospel with those you interact with on a daily basis.  Your world is where you are, starting with your own family, friends and where you work.

God has commissioned us, and has sent us, to share the Gospel to the world.  The Gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ.  Whenever you share the good news about what Jesus has done for you to others, you are preaching the Gospel.  Tell others about how good Jesus has been to you, how he has changed your life.  Tell others that when they accept Jesus as their Savior, he will change their life, too.

When I was a young boy of 11 years of age, I was under conviction of my sin, even at that age.  I knew that sin was bad.  I knew that when I disobeyed my parents that not only would I get punished by them, but I felt bad inside.  I was under conviction because of the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart about my sin and what I had done wrong.  I attended the morning service at First Baptist Church, Natchitoches, Louisiana and at the end I went up and talked to the Pastor and he led me to the Lord, and I accepted Jesus as my Savior that day.  He shared the good news with me about Jesus and I was immediately born again!  I was so happy that day!

Jesus has been my friend for many years now.  He has been with me through many ups and downs in life. I was called to preach while serving in the U.S. Army.  I was one of the founding members of Stuttgart Baptist Church, Stuttgart, Germany.  When my six year enlistment ended I flew to the U.S. and moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College.

I have been in the ministry many years now, serving the Lord.  There have been times of sickness, and Jesus healed me.  There have been times of heartache, and heartbreak, and Jesus comforted me and healed my hurts.  There have been times of depression and Jesus comforted me, and then He renewed my mind with His Word.

Why am I saying all of this?  I am sharing this with you because I care about you.  God cares about you.  He cares about your life.  If you have no purpose in your life, if you have no meaning and don't know why you are here, come to Jesus.  If you are hurting inside, you are heartbroken, come to Jesus.  He can heal your hurts, and he can heal your broken heart.

If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior of your life, you can do it now.  Being born again is more than just going to heaven, it is having a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe, the one who cares for you.  Jesus tells us, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Come to him today.  Give your heart to Jesus and let him change your life from the inside out.

The Bible tells us, in Romans 10:9 - 13
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Say this simple pray with me, "Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned.  My life is not where I want it to be.  I repent of my sins and want you to change my life.  I believe that you died and rose again.  I ask you to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life.  Thank you, Jesus for saving me."

If you prayed that simple prayer, you are now saved!  You are born again!  You have become a new creature in Christ Jesus.

As a minister of the Gospel, I welcome you as a new Believer!  Angels are shouting in heaven for you!  We celebrate you for becoming a child of God.

“The Lord Has Pleasure in Your Prosperity”

8/31/2013

“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” - Psalm 35:27

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” - 3 John 2

There seems to be a controversy in the Body of Christ concerning money, and prosperity. I'd like to define what prosperity is so we can understand that it is not a bad thing.

“Prosperity is having more than enough to provide for your family, an overflow to help others and seed to keep planting.”

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines prosperity as “the condition of being successful or thriving; especially : economic well-being.”

The Lord has pleasure when you are prosperous, providing for your family, helping others and sowing seed to keep reaping your harvest. The Apostle John stated that he wished “above all things” that you would be prosperous and be in good health. That tells me that the Lord wants your health to be thriving as well.

In John 10:10 (AMP), Jesus tells his disciples, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

This tells me that the Lord wants you to live your LIFE with abundance, and not lack.  It is not money that causes evil, it is the lack of money that causes so many problems today.  Money is NOT the root of all evil, the Bible tells us that, "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil,"  so that tells me that having money is not a bad thing, but it is good to have.  Money is a tool for us to use to advance the Kingdom of God.  God gave the church the commandment to "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."  (Mark 16:15)  God did not give this to the business world, he gave this assignment to the church, the body of Christ.  It takes money to reach out into all the world by TV, Satellite, radio, internet and telephone to preach the Gospel to others and lead them to Jesus.  It takes money to support ministries and missionaries who go out into the world to preach the Gospel. It takes money for the local church to carry out the mission that God gave it. Corporations were not entrusted with this great mission.  It was entrusted by God to the church.

Psalm 1:1 – 3 tells us, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

The Lord wants above all things for you to prosper in every area of your life. He wants your job to prosper you. He wants your health to be prosperous so you can live a full life for Him. He wants your relationships to prosper, your marriage to prosper, your children to prosper. His desire is that your life would be so full, and that it would overflow so you will be a blessing to others and a light to the world.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” - Joshua 1:8

To your success,

Tom

"The 10 Greatest Lessons I Learned in 2012"

12/30/2012

Here are some of the greatest lessons that I learned from 2012 that I want to share with you.  I asked myself some hard questions and received answers to those questions from the Lord.

1.  Who your 5 closest friends are, and who you hang out with on a regular basis, matters.
- Who your closest friends are will help shape and define your character, good or bad.
-  It will determine your income.
-  Your friends will either drive you to achieve your greatness, or demotivate you to failure and frustration.

2.  Love Others
-  Take no one for granted.
-  We are in the people business.
-  What I do for others, God will do for me.

Loving others is more than just a commandment from God.  It is a lifestyle we must practice to achieve our greatness.  You will not become successful without loving others and showing your love for them.

3.  Your Beliefs, and philosophy, Do Matter.
-  Who Do You Believe, matters.
-  A wrong belief, or set of beliefs could set you back for years from walking in, and achieving, your greatness.
-  Your Self-belief matters.  A healthy self-esteem is vital for you to achieve success.
-  How many books every year that you read matters.
-  How many audios/videos/DVD's you listen to or watch every year matters.
-  What you learn from them matters.

4.  Honor Your Commitments To Others.
-  You are known if you keep your word, or break your word.  Your word is your bond and you will become successful when known as a person who keeps his/her word to others.
-  Can you be trusted by others?
-  Can you be trusted by God?

5.  Do Everything You Do As Unto The Lord.
-  Do you add value to others, and to your employer at work?
-  Is there order in your life?
  a.  God created the universe in perfect order.
  b.  Man is the only thing on this planet out of order.

6.  What You Focus On Matters.
-  You get what you think about (focus on) most of the time.
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."  - Proverbs 23:7
-  What are you thinking about most of the time?
-  What would you like for others to remember you by when you die?
-  What would you like to accomplish in your life while you are still living?
-  Are you reading and meditating on the Word of God?  If not, Why?

7.  Saving Money For Your Future Matters.
-  Save for investments to earn you more income.  Make your money work for you.  (Parable of the stewards)
-  Save for your retirement.
-  Save to invest in yourself.  Your mind is your greatest investment.
-  Save for sowing into others when they ask.

8.  The Seeds That You Sow Matter.
-  Pay your tithes to the Lord first.
-  Give offerings unto the Lord.
-  Sow into others.

9.  Your Mentor(s) Matter.
-  Who do you listen to?
-  Do you have a mentor(s), and if not, why don't you?
-  do you take action on the advice of your mentor?
-  What are the results you are achieving?

10.  Results Do Matter.
-  We live in a results oriented society, and God expects results from you.
-  When you are diligent in your life and work and are producing positive results, good things come to you.
-  When you are lazy and producing little, or no results, bad things happen to you.
-  Are you an action taker, or procrastinator?
-  If you are not getting the results you want, you must ask yourself the hard questions and find out why.  Take corrective action now to change your destiny.  You will be glad you did.

I pray that this will cause you to think and start planning for 2013 to be the greatest year of your life.

May the Lord richly bless you will all wisdom, knowledge and understanding and may you walk in abundance and prosperity in 2013!

Are You Worried?

4/20/2011

Are you worried about something or someone in your life?  Are things just not going right for you?  Feeling stressed about your job or your finances?  Many times in our life things happened not exactly the way we planned.  That job you just knew you had fell through at the last minute and you desperately needed that job.  You failed a final exam in school and failed the whole class causing a delay in your graduation.  Maybe you got sick at the worst possible moment in your life, or a spouse walked out on you leaving you with no hope of restoring the marriage.

I have felt that way many times in my life.  It seemed like something happened at the worst possible moment.  Maybe it devastated you, made you feel hopeless or rejected.  I know how you feel.

Let's go to  the Word of God and read what Jesus had to say about worry.  "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what he shall put on.  Is not life more than meat, and the body more than raiment?  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?  Therefore take no thought saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek;) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."  (Matthew 6:25, 27, 31-34)

Jesus tells us not to worry (take thought) about things.  He tells us, "Do you think if you worry enough you can add one inch to your height?"  (verse 27).  We know that worry causes stress and stress caused health problems.  I read that 95% of what we worry about never comes to pass and out of the other 5% it works out better than you thought it would.

Does that mean I am not to be concerned at all about my life and about situations that happen that I don't know what to do?
No, I am not suggesting that you shouldn't be concerned.  We all have to live in reality.  Worrying about your situation is not going to change the situation.  What should I do?  I'm glad you asked.

1.    Pray
Prayer is a powerful force.  Prayer can change things.  Ask someone you trust to pray with you.  Come into a prayer of agreement and let God fight your battles for you.  Ask God for wisdom concerning the matter.  God can handle it better than you can.

2.    Be Thankful
Tom, you want me to be thankful that something bad has happened to me?  The Word of God tells us to be thankful in all things (1 Thessalonians 5:18).  God didn't tell us to be thankful when everything is going great,  when you get a promotion at your job, when you are living the blessed life.  God tells us to be thankful in ALL things, even if they are not good.

3.    Speak to Your Mountain
"...for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." (Matthew 17:20)
Take authority over your situation and speak to it.  "...calleth those things which be not as though they were." (Romans 4:17)
Speak with the authority of the Word of God.  Speak God's Word over your situation.

4.    Believe
Believe that things are going to work out in your favor.  Allow God to work behind the scenes on your behalf.  Do what you can do, and what you have no control over, give it to God.  Let go and let God!

5 Keys To Your Healing

4/19/2011

I would like to elaborate more on my last blog post.

There are some keys to unlock the door to your healing!

Here are 5 of those keys:

1.    You Must Believe That God Will Heal You.

If you have doubt in your heart that God will heal you, and doubt God and His Word, then you have disqualified yourself from being healed.   Believe God’s Word for what it teaches!

Believe, and receive. Doubt and do without!

2.    Stand On The Word of God As The Authority For Your Healing.

Here as some Scriptures that I stood on for my healing:

“…and with His stripes we are healed,”  (Isaiah 53:5);
“…for I am the Lord that healeth thee,” (Exodus 15:26);
“He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions,” (Psalm 107:20);
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord,” (Psalm 118:17);
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord,” (Jeremiah 30:17);
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body…by Whose stripes ye were healed, “ (1 Peter 2:24);
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health….”  (3 John 2);
“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;” (Psalm 103:1-3)
“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23)

Remember, the Word of God has power!  It has power over your sickness and disease!

3.  Your Faith Is the Seed For Your Healing.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him.” ( Hebrews 11:6).

You already have faith within you.  “…God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3)
“According to your faith, be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29
“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23)

Activate your faith for your healing and believe that God has healed you already!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

God wants to heal you!  Activate your faith today and be healed!

4.  Pray!

Your fervent and passionate prayer will move the heart of God.  God is moved by your passion and by your faith.  Ask others to pray for your healing.  “…pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)

“Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”  (Matthew 18:19)

How powerful is that!  I can come into a prayer of agreement with someone and I can be healed!  The Word of God is powerful if we only believe!
5.    Expect To Be Healed!

Simply stated, the Law of Expectation tells us that whatever you expect, with confidence, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you expect with confidence that good things will happen, they usually will.

Expect your healing!  Expect with confidence that you are healed!

Yes, you can be healed!  God wants you to be healed today!

“Our heavenly Father, I pray  that anyone reading this blog who needs healing will be healed today!  I pray in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that all sickness and disease will leave their body now and that wholeness and the Spirit of Life will come into their body making them whole again, In the name of Jesus I pray, AMEN!”

If you experience healing today, please write to me and let me know so I can pray for you and celebrate with you in your healing.  May God bless you!

To Your Success,
Tom
