There have been times in my life when I felt like I had no faith left. Have you ever felt that way? Jesus shared with his disciples that they only needed faith the size of a mustard seed. A mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds on the planet. You can put thousands of mustard seeds in a teaspoon. Jesus was sharing that your mountain moving faith only has to be the size of a small mustard seed to move any obstacle in your life. If only you would believe.
My faith is tested on a daily basis. I must practice what I preach and teach or I would be a hypocrite. Smile! It only gets better! Today I had a somewhat stressful morning thinking of things that I was facing in my ministry, in my personal life and in my work. Before you jump to conclusions, (Smile) I am blessed, and my life is blessed. The Lord is good to me! I have much to be thankful for.
We are planning a trip back to the Philippines to teach Leadership workshops in 5, and possibly 6 cities in a about a week's time in the month of July. Plans are being made as to the cities, a budget, the hotels we will stay, etc., as well as we are always concerned for our safety when in a foreign country. Then there are always bills that must be paid every month. For some reason I have not figured out how to pay the rent, electricity, water, internet, cable or car note by faith. I'm working on it and when I figure it out, I'll write a book. For some reason they expect money! :-)
Work is going relatively well, so I should not complain about anything. No one wants to listen to my complaining, so I choose to stay positive in a negative world. Hey, I'm human and sometimes have a challenging day like you do!
Having said all that, my faith was tested this morning. My attitude started moving toward the negative side. Once I recognized what was happening, I went to the Word of God and started reading. The Holy Spirit has a way of comforting me through his Word. As my attitude changed from challenging to a positive, cheerful type, the Holy Spirit spoke those words to me - "Nothing shall be impossible if only you believe."
Those words of encouragement meant so much to me! The Lord knows what I needed at that moment. They were words of encouragement and comfort to me. I love the Lord so much! He knows my thoughts and knows when I am down and need a word of encouragement and comfort.
I want to encourage you today with those words. "Nothing shall be impossible if only you believe." When facing times of testing, and times of the fiery trials like the three Hebrew children when faced with what seemed like an impossible situation, look to the Lord. Believe that you will get through the storms in life. Believe that the Lord will walk you through to the other side of the trials. God can and he will!!
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)
The Lord is with you. He is on your side. He is walking your through the times of trials. When your strength fails you, he will pick you up and carry your through. Be encouraged! The Lord is on your side! May these be words of comfort to you. They were to me today.
