You may have an answer to those questions or you may not know the answer. You may be asking yourself those very questions. I have asked myself those very questions.
Sometimes I feel like I have run into a roadblock or something is an obstacle to me getting what I want. I sometimes have to scratch my head and ask myself, “Why am I not getting what I want? What is stopping me from getting what I want? What am I doing, or what can I do that I am not doing now?”
Here are a few things that I have identified that may be holding you back from getting what you want and getting your miracles from God:
1. Your Attachment
If you are attached to something, or someone in your life that you know is holding you back, let it go.
God told Abram (later, Abraham) in Genesis 12:1-4, to leave from his father’s house, and his relatives and go to another land that God would show him later on when he got there. Has God told you to leave where you are at, where you are comfortable and where your friends and family are and go by faith to another place to start a business or a ministry, or both? Have you obeyed God? Your blessings are in obedience to the Holy Spirit.
Is there a person in your life that is holding you back? I read recently that five years from now your income will be the average of your five best friend’s income. Your quality of life will be the average quality of life of your five best friends five years from now. Ouch! If you keep doing what you are always doing, you will keep getting what you have always got. Is it enough? Maybe it’s time to change friends!
If you are at a dead end job that is holding you back, change jobs. Find another one where your talents are celebrated and not tolerated. God wants you to be successful!
Stay in your field of favor. If you are not there now, find it.
2. Your Attitude
Your attitude determines whether you fly with the eagles or live a barnyard life. There will be times in your life that things just don’t go right. Your car will break down at the worst possible time, your spouse may have left you and now you are a single parent struggling to make ends meet, you may have been fired from your job or your employer went out of business. Maybe you made a decision that you thought was right at the time, however it proved to be a bad one and it cost you financially. I have been through all of these circumstances in my life at one time or another. The only thing that I had complete control over was my attitude.
My attitude needed adjusting many times in my life. I have found from my experiences that when my attitude is positive and I am happy, things seem to work out just fine for me. I find that I make better decisions, people like me more and give me favor and in general my life is so much better when I have a positive mental attitude and am happy.
3. Your Actions
There have been times in my life that my actions, or my behavior, held me back. And sometimes it was my inaction, or procrastination, that held me back. What are your daily habits? Are you productive every day?
Here are some possible actions that may be holding you back:
a. Do you complete each task that you are assigned to do at work each day, or do you only do enough work to get by for the day?
b. Do you honor those in authority over you? Are you obedient to their instructions?
c. Are you quick tempered, or quickly angered? Do you show fits of anger when you don’t get your way? This type of behavior will keep you from getting what you want.
d. Do you procrastinate when you should be taking action now? Your procrastination, or inaction could be holding you back. When you are told to do something by your boss at work and you don’t complete the task right away, you could be holding yourself back. Employers are looking for people who will get the job done.
These are a few things that could be holding you back and not getting the things you want. If you look deep within yourself you will find the answers that are holding you back and not getting what you want. God bless you.
To Your Success,
Tom
