We would like to thank you for your prayers and financial support to keep this ministry going. We are truly grateful for you. Because of you, we are making a difference in the lives of others here in the Philippines.
I have been here over a year now and we are seeing lives changed, the sick healed and hearts touched by the preaching of the Gospel. We have been praying for those who are hurting. We have been to the bedside of those in the hospital to pray for them. We have gone to the houses of those who were grieving over the loss of a loved one and prayed for them and comforted them and their family.
Imagine what it is like living in a third world country without the luxuries that you and I take for granted. There are many who live on government land in makeshift houses that were built from discarded pieces of lumber and building materials. They have no hot water to take a bath or shower in, or to wash their clothes in or to wash their dishes in. If they want a hot bath they must heat water on a stove to have hot water.
Most are unemployed because of the lack of jobs here. Many only have part time jobs. There is no welfare program here. Even those who are employed live on $200 or less a month to support their entire family.
I am sharing this with you not for you to feel sorry for them. They are hard working and very industrious. The Filipinos are good people. They teach honor and respect to their children. They believe in God. They are happy despite what their living conditions are.
I was sent by God to show them a better way, God's way. God's way is a better way. His way is higher than our way. He is the light shining in a dark world. His Word (the Bible) teaches us a better way to live. It teaches us the truth. It teaches us what is right and what is wrong. It teaches us the skills we need to live a successful life.
Jesus shared with us that "I came that they might have life, and live it more abundantly." Jesus wants you to live life abundantly to the full, until it overflows. He wants you to be happy and live a life filled with joy and happiness, one that overflows so much that you are bringing joy and happiness to others as well.
Thank you, again, for your prayers for us as we share the Gospel to others. Thank you for your financial support so we can make a difference in the lives of others.
We need to raise $500 for our various projects that we have right now.
Here are some of the projects that we are doing right now:
1. We need to purchase 25 chairs for our ministry. They are approximately $10 each.
2. We have a youth fellowship and Bible study every Saturday and we give them snacks and juice or water to drink during the fellowship. We are training future leaders of the Philippines from this youth group.
3. On April 26 - April 30 we are hosting a Vacation Bible School for 60 children ages 6 - 12. We will be providing them with snacks to eat. We are excited about this because we get to see the smiling faces of the children as they are learning about Jesus.
4. We need to purchase a keyboard for our music ministry. We can get a really good new one for approximately $500.
I would like to ask you to give a gift of any amount to help our ministry. Any amount that you give, whether large or small, will go toward sharing the Gospel, teaching and training our youth, feeding the hungry and being there for those who are hurting so we can pray with them and help them through their crisis. You are making a difference!
Thank you so much!
To God be the glory,
Tom and Josie Bice
