Is your faith being tested today? Are you going through a difficult situation and don't know what to do? We have all experienced trials in our life. I have heard this statement, "Faith not tested can't be trusted."
In Mark 4:35 - 41, Jesus and his disciples boarded a ship to cross over to the other side. While Jesus was sleeping a great storm of wind arose on the sea and beat violently on the ship to the point that the ship was in danger of sinking. Some of his disciples were experienced fishermen and fished out of the same sea there were in and had seen storms like this before which came up suddenly. This storm caused them to be afraid. After they had done all that they could do they finally woke up Jesus. They had this fearful look in their eyes. They asked Jesus, "Master, don't you even care that we are about to perish? Jesus, we are about to be shipwrecked here. We are about to die. Don't you even care?"
Jesus then had a choice to make. What was he going to do? What was he going to say? The Scriptures tell us, "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."
Jesus took authority over the situation. He rebuked the storms of life that came. Then he told his disciples, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" Up to this point having been with Jesus, they had seen miracles that Jesus did. They had seen people healed and made whole again. They had experience the miraculous power of God in his life. They forgot that they were with Jesus! They forgot the miracles! They were looking through natural eyes at the situation and they became afraid.
When you are going through the storms and trials in your life have you forgotten that Jesus, the creator of the universe, the one who causes miracles to happen, the one who gives faith and peace to us through his Word, is with you and for you? When Jesus was tested in the wilderness by Satan he simply stated what the Word of God says. Rebuke the storms and the trials with the Word of God! Take authority over the situation that you are in. Say what the Word says about it. "If God be for me, who can be against me?" God is thinking good thoughts about me today. He is thinking thoughts of peace and prosperity for me. He wants me to succeed. He loves me and is working behind the scene speaking to others to help me. he is speaking to others to give me favor. God love me and is for me!!
"Have faith in God" today. - Mark 11:22
"If you can beleive, all things are possible to him who beleives." - Mark 9:23
"Therefore, I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you shall have them." - Mark 11:24
When your faith is being tested be happy! Be thankful! Give thanks to God and then dance! You might be saying, "Tom, are you crazy? My rent is due today, my car note is behind, I'm about to default on my loan I made to the bank and you want me to be happy, rejoice and be glad about it, give thanks to God and dance about it? Are you crazy?" YES!! That is what I mean.
As I write this, my faith is being tested. I am going through the storms of life and I am happy!! I have already given thanks to God. I have already dance and sang praises to God. I look to the Lord as my strength, and I look to the Lord for my provision. I am speaking what the Word of God says. I am praising God! I am looking through spiritual eyes at my future instead of my present. It doesn't mean that I am in denial of what is going on and I am not concerned. The Word of God tells me not to worry about these things. So this morning I handed all my cares and concerns to the Lord and it has given me the freedom to be happy, to be thankful and to have joy in my heart and peace in my life. I care about what is going on, but not that much!!
Lord, I believe that you are going to supply all my need according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I believe that you are going to work out everything. Lord I pray that you will give us wisdom and increase our faith today. Lord, everyone who is going through the storms of life today, I pray that you will meet their needs and calm the storms in their life. I pray that you will give them peace in their heart and let them rejoice and have a praise report that declares your grace and that you have provided for them, in the name of Jesus, amen.
