At the end of last year I was in prayer and the Holy Spirit spoke to me declaring 2016 to be the Year of Supernatural Increase. The Lord wants you to have increase in your life this year.
“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” - Isaiah 42:9
In Genesis 1 the Lord commanded all the earth and everything in it to be fruitful and multiply.
When he created man in his own image, “God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the face of the earth.” – Genesis 1:27, 28
God is a god of increase and has commanded us to be fruitful and multiply. Why is this so important to us? Our Father wants us to rule and take dominion over all the earth. We have His authority. He wants to increase you and your family.
“The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.” – Psalms 115:14
You might be thinking, “All that sounds good, Tom, but how can I bring increase in my life this year? What can I do to achieve that?”
That’s a great question. I’m glad you asked!
How would you like to see…
Increase in your income…
Increase in favor...
Increase in wisdom...
Increase in knowledge...
Increase in influence...
Increase in houses and land?
"Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase."- Job 8:7
There are ways in which you can bring increase into your life this year.
1. Your Obedience.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” – Isaiah 1:19
You see, only the obedient will prosper in the land. If you obey the Lord. Prosperity is your portion. He wants you to prosper.
Being obedient to God’s Word will always bring increase into your life.
God is a god of covenant and works with us by His covenant. He made a covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12:1 – 4) and he was obedient to the Lord. God confirmed that covenant again to Abraham in Genesis 22:15 – 18.
God then established a covenant with Moses which went along with the covenant he had with Abraham.
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” – Deuteronomy 8:18
Then he confirmed it again in Deuteronomy 28:1 – 14
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” – Deuteronomy 28:1, 2
When we obey God’s Word and keep his commandments we will be blessed and will have increase in our life.
This is what the Lord says about being obedient to His Word, talking about the Believer, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” – Psalms 1:2, 3
The only part of the Bible that works for you is the part that you Believe and Do.
2. Seek God First in Your Life. When we put God first in our life, increase will come.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33
When you put God first in your life and in everything that you do, he promised you will be blessed and he will add things to your life. The closer you draw to God, the blessings will fall down. God’s math is so much better than our math. He wants to add and multiply to your life. Satan wants to take away and destroy your life. Satan came to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus came that you might have life, and that you might live it more abundantly. Choose Jesus!
3. Your Giving. You might be thinking, “Tom, if I give away something it subtracts from my life.” In the Kingdom of God your giving actually causes increase in your life.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” – Luke 6:38
“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (as it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6 – 11
Your giving will cause the blessing of God to fall in your life.
There are three types of giving in the Bible:
1. Your Tithe.
Your tithe is 10% of the firstfruit of your income and you bring it to the house of the Lord first. It belongs to God. Your tithe goes to the local church where you attend.
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.” – Malachi 3:10, 11
2. Your Offerings.
Your offerings are over and above the tithe. You may give offerings to support the building program or youth program in your local church. You may give offerings to support missionaries who are serving in foreign countries, or you may give offerings to help feed children or the homeless.Your offerings are over and above the tithe.
3. Your Alms.
Your alms are what you give privately and in secret that you don’t tell others about. When you give in secret God has special blessings for you.
“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” – Matthew 6:1 – 4
Your giving will multiply in the Kingdom of God and God will increase you more and more.
To your good health, prosperity and peace,
Tom and Josie Bice
