Greetings from the beautiful islands of the Philippines!
Summer is here and the flowers are starting to bloom once again. It is starting to rain again and the plants are coming alive! There is a luscious green carpet of vegetation all around us. I love it here!
In the winter time, even here in the tropics, it seems as if some of the plants have died and will never come back to life again. You look at them day after day and wonder if they will ever spring forth to live again.
Then summer arrives and you think the heat has killed those plants for sure. It looks as if death is its destiny. A few weeks later the first raindrops fall and all of a sudden, that which is dead comes alive again! It's a miracle!
The same thing happens to us in life. Relationships go bad, your health suddenly deteriorates or you lose your job and it looks as if nothing good will ever come again. The devil tells you it is over, pack your bags, you will never make it, you are finished.
What the enemy doesn’t know is God has a plan for you. Just when you think life is over, that your marriage will never be revived again, that you will never find another job, SUDDENLY, God shows up!
You see, God is the creator of life! He can take a failed marriage and breathe life back into it. He can lead you to a better job or career. He can restore life back into your broken and unhealthy body when it seems as if you were going to die.
In 2006 I became very ill and had to go to the emergency room of a local hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. I was in pain and it was so severe I thought I was going to die.
After examining me and running blood tests, the ER doctor ordered x-rays and a CT scan. When the results came back the doctor shared with me something bad was going on in my liver. I was admitted to the hospital where they ran extensive medical tests for 4 days.
On the morning of the fourth day the doctor came to my room and shared with me that there was something going on with my liver and that I needed to see a specialist as soon as possible. I was discharged and was given an appointment to see a liver specialist.
When I saw the liver specialist he shared with me that my liver was failing and that I had to get a liver transplant as soon as possible. He said he was going to place me on a liver transplant list with top priority. We talked for about 30 minutes as he described what was going on in my liver. The usual tests came back negative and he could not diagnose what caused my liver to go bad.
I had hundreds of thoughts racing through my mind as the doctor spoke. The voice of the enemy told me my life was over and my ministry was finished. Another still, small voice whispered to me that my life was not over and that I would live. Who do you believe?
When I left that doctor’s office that day, I went to see two pastor friends of mine and I shared with them what had happened, and the bad report that I had received. These two pastor friends of mine were full of faith and believed God and His Word. We came into a prayer of agreement that I would live to declare the works of the Lord!
That was in 2006, ten years ago this month. I am here to testify to you that I did live, I never did get the liver transplant and I am alive and well! God healed me of that liver disease. I chose to believe in God and His Word.
