As in the earth, we also go through seasons in our life.
In our youth, we go to school from about the age of 4 or 5 to 18. Then some go to college for another 4 - 6 years to get a bachelor's degree and then a masters degree.
That's the first season of your life. I call it The Season of Education.
The second season of your life is what I call The Season of Your Working Years.
From the age of 18, or 22 if you go to four years of college, you start working to gain experience in the industry that you choose and you work for 40 - 45 years until you reach the age of retirement.
You then go into a season of what I call The Season of Your Retirement. Some when they retire have little money to retire on and sit around the house not doing much. They sit and talk about their past and the "good old days." They can't change the past but that is all they can talk about because that is the only memories that they have.
Others retire and then start volunteering to help a cause. Maybe they volunteer at a homeless shelter, or volunteer at a hospital, or help feed the poor in a soup kitchen. Some volunteer and serve at their church or place of worship. Some volunteer when there is a disaster to help others. Some volunteer to mentor youth and teach them how to live a better life and teach them skills.
All of those are good things. During those years you have an opportunity to help others and make a difference.
The fourth, and last season of your life is what I call The Season of The Golden Years of Your Retirement.
The Golden Years of Retirement are considered as the span of time between retirement and the beginning of age-imposed physical, emotional, and cognitive limitations, and today would roughly fall between the ages of 65 and 80+ (Google search).
If you health, your body and your mind are reasonably good during these years you can still enjoy retirement and still make an impact on generations.
There are other seasons that you will go through in your lifetime. Some will be good, some will be challenging.
Job in the Bible went through a season of trials and testing. The disciples and Apostles in the New Testament went through seasons of trials and persecutions.
The Apostle Paul recorded this in 2 Corinthians 11:24 - 28.
Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
Your faith will also be tested. You may go through a season of lack or famine in your life where you lose everything and have to start over. I've been there before. It was painful but the Lord was with me and took me to the other side. He never left me. He led me to new doors of opportunity.
There will also be times of prosperity in your life, where everything is going well and you lack nothing. This is because you are walking in obedience to the Lord and His Word.
Let me encourage you that no matter what season you are going through in your life God cares. He is with you and will never leave you. He loves you and is there for you.
