Hope is waiting patiently for something believing that it will happen, with expectation. The dictionary defines it as 1. the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best; 2. to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence; 3. to believe, desire, or trust. There have been times in my life where I almost gave up hope. It look as though I was through. There have been seven times I should have died. I have been homeless, I have been through bankruptcy and divorce. I have lost a son who died. I have gone through business failure. I have failed in ministry. Friends abandoned me. I have been alone and in despair. I have been through depression at times. Through these things I never gave up. My hope was dim. It seemed as if there was no way out. When in my darkest hour I would pick up my Bible and start reading and it gave me new hope. It encouraged me. My hope in God encouraged me to go on, to not give up. The Lord is for you, and not against you. He is thinking nothing but good thoughts toward you. His desire is for you to be successful in life. He has given us His Word to instruct us how to live. He has even given you the power to create wealth, to be healthy and to live a happy life. Trust in the Lord today. Put your hope in him. Pray this prayer with me. “Our heavenly Father, I trust in you and in your Word. My hope is in you. You said in your Word that you would never leave me nor forsake me. You said in your Word that you would supply all my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. You said in your Word that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” “Lord, I trust in you. Help me today. Deliver me from evil. Let your will be done in my life... Let your will be done in my marriage... Let your will be done in my job... Let your will be done in my family.... Reveal to me your divine purpose for my life. Reveal to me your divine assignment in my life. Thank you for all that you have done for me. Teach me your ways and your will. I ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son.
